Our client is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and families through education, prevention, and community-based programs. Reaching tens of thousands of individuals each year, they have steadily expanded their impact and strengthened their role within the community. To support this growth, they partnered with livingHR to strengthen organizational culture, reimagine the employee experience, and evaluate and enhance their HR function for long-term success.

Challenges

Before engaging livingHR, the organization was navigating several major transitions, including the retirement of their long-tenured CEO and a recent change in HR leadership. These shifts led to inconsistencies in HR processes, compliance risks, and concerns about maintaining cultural continuity in an organization built on relationships. At the same time, staff were experiencing added stress from accreditation requirements and an office relocation. Leaders recognized the need for a stronger employee experience, more consistent HR practices, and a cultural framework that would support both immediate stability and long-term success.

  • Strengthened Culture: Completed an organization-wide culture survey through HumanlyX, achieving 55% staff participation; conducted 3 onsite focus groups to gather feedback on candidate and employee experiences; and created a custom culture framework based on overall employee feedback and presented an Employer Value Proposition and Pillars, Culture Codes, and Culture narratives that is now guiding leadership decisions and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Talent Recruitment Support: Implemented a refreshed recruitment strategy that created a clearer, more consistent candidate experience. Provided high-volume recruitment support across the organization to attract and assess top talent, and successfully identified and placed a new HR Manager, filling a pivotal leadership role during a critical transition. Played an integral part of onboarding the new HR Manager; provided documented processes throughout the employee life cycle and completed knowledge transfer of current practices and processes.
  • HR Process Improvements: Provided interim HR support, streamlined daily HR operations, and conducted a full evaluation of processes, which led to fewer compliance gaps and faster onboarding of new hires.
  • Onboarding & Communications: Delivered a tailored onboarding framework and internal communications plan, ensuring greater consistency in new hire integration and more transparent employee communication across the organization.
